Forkfolio ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

Forkfolio is designed with privacy in mind. We collect the minimum data necessary for the app to function:

• Recipe data: The recipes you save (titles, ingredients, instructions, images, tags, and notes) are stored locally on your device. If you choose to create an account, your data is also backed up to a cloud database so it can sync across devices.
• Images: Photos you attach to recipes are stored on your device. If you opt in to cloud backup, they are uploaded to secure cloud storage.
• Account information: If you choose to create an account for backup purposes, we store your email address and authentication credentials. Creating an account is entirely optional — the app works fully without one.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not track your location.
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not serve advertisements.
• We do not sell, share, or rent any data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Forkfolio uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore & Firebase Storage): Used to store and sync your recipe data and images when you opt in to cloud backup by creating an account. Firebase is operated by Google and subject to the Firebase Privacy Policy.

No data is shared with any other third party.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your recipe data is stored locally on your device by default. If you create an account, your data is additionally stored on Firebase servers managed by Google. All cloud data is transmitted using industry-standard TLS encryption. We do not have access to your data beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your recipe data is retained for as long as you use the app. When you delete a recipe within the app, the associated data and images are permanently removed from your device and, if applicable, from our cloud servers.

If you wish to delete all your data, you may do so by deleting all recipes within the app, or by contacting us at the address below.

6. Children's Privacy

Forkfolio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
